6th Annual SCBF (400+ Photos)

The 6th Annual Sugar Cayne Bike Fest is now in the history book and this one has got to be one of the best one’s we’ve had yet!! The weather was perfect, the track was amazing, we enhanced the pump track and everyone was loving it, people brought some amazing vintage BMX and show bikes to display and we had an awesome turnout! People brought out their mountain bikes, dirt jumpers and plus sized BMX bikes.

For the competitions We tried some new things this time around and it was fun to watch. Instead of having one bar to hop over for the Bunny Hop Competition, we had multiple bars to hop. We brought back the cyclocross race but this time the riders only had to do two laps and the Best Style competition was done on the last two straights instead of the just the last straight. The other new competitions we did were the Full Suspension MTB race, Big Bike Wheelie Race, Vintage BMX Race(which turned into a vintage BMXer race) and a Manual Race.

For the bike show we decided to give out a “Best Of Show” and a “Best Vintage Bike” metal for the bikes that we like the most. We also gave out a set of Skyway Mags. It was super hard to pick a winner for the medals because there were so many awesome vintage bikes on display.

I have to give a huge shout out and thanks to Rich, Liz and Chris for all their help and support of this year’s event! Trumbull T.R.A.C.K. is an awesome BMX facility and they run an amazing program there. Also big shout out to everyone who helped out with the pump track build and Carrie Sauer for taking car of registration.
